**What it is for:** API keys let your own tools call AskAniela. Keys belong to a project. Full description:
[API keys in the user guide](https://docs.askaniela.com/user/api-keys.md); first call: [API quickstart](https://docs.askaniela.com/user/api-quickstart.md).

## Step by step

1. Open the project (**Projects** in the sidebar) and the **API keys** tab.
2. Type a name (for example `crawler-prod`), pick when it expires and, optionally, the allowed IP addresses.
3. Click **New key**. The full key is shown **once** - click **Copy** and keep it safe, then **Done**.
4. Use it in the header `Authorization: Bearer gsj_...`.

The list shows the name, the start of the key, scopes, limit, expiry and last use.
**Rotate** creates a new key and keeps the old one working for a grace period; **Revoke** stops a key at once.

## Common questions

**I lost the key.** We keep only a fingerprint of it. Rotate it or create a new one.

**Does the API have its own budget?** No. API calls use the same balance as the app.

**Who can create keys?** People with write access to the project; revoking needs owner or admin.
