# Service status

**What it is for:** the status pill and announcements tell you whether checks start right away and about planned

## Step by step

1. Look at the pill at the bottom of the sidebar, above the monthly spending: for example **All systems up**.
   Click or hover it to read the full message. It refreshes every minute.
2. Announcements appear as a banner at the top of the page. Close an info banner with **✕**; it stays closed
   for 30 days in this browser. Outage banners stay until the problem is solved.
3. Your check waits in the queue when Ani is warming up or busy, and starts on its own.

## Common questions

**What if the pill says Degraded?** Checks may fail or take longer. Read the banner and try again later. Failed
pages are not charged.
